SPECIAL MEETING

LEVY COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

December 19, 2002

 The Special Meeting of the Board of Levy County Commissioners was held on December 19, 2002 at 6:30 p.m. in the Levy County Board of County Commissioners' meeting room, with the following Commissioners present:

Vice Chairman Danny Stevens
Comm. Sammy Yearty
Comm. Lilly Rooks
Comm.  Nancy Bell

 Also present were:

Assistant County Administrator Fred Moody

Chairman Parker called the public hearing to order at 6:30 p.m. to discuss proposed Large Scale Amendments to the Future Land Use Map of the Levy County Comprehensive Plan.

PLANNING, COUNTY

Mrs. Kathy Winburn presented the following petitions for Large Scale Amendments:

Petition No. LSA-02-04 - Michelle McElroy, representing Luther and Juanita White.  Amend the Levy County Future Land Use Map from A/RR (Rural Low Density/Agricultural Residential, one (1) dwelling unit per ten (10) acres) to RR (Rural Low Density Residential, one (1) dwelling unit per three (3) acres), and changing the zoning district classification from A/RR (Agricultural/Rural Residential District) to RR (Rural Residential Single-Family District), on approximately 152 acres, located approximately 3.2 miles west of U.S. 19 on SR 320, on the north side of SR 320.  Parcel ID Number 00752-000-000. The Planning Commission recommended approval.

Mrs. Winburn explained had reviewed the proposed amendment and recommended approval as being consistent with the surrounding area.  Comm. Rooks moved to approve the Large Scale Amendment petitioned for by Luther and Juanita White.  Comm. Bell seconded and the MOTION CARRIED.

Petition No. LSA-02-05 - Levy County and Suwannee River Water Management District to amend the Levy County Future Land Use Map from Forestry/Rural Residential (F/RR) to Natural Reservation (NR) on approximately 7,665 acres located in portions of Sections 9, 10, 15, 16,17,20,21,28, 29(all), 30, 31, 32(all) and 33 of Township 12 South, Range 16 East, portions of Sections 1, 12, and 13 of Township 13 South, Range 15 East; and portions of Section 4, 5(all), 6(all), 7(all), 8, 9, 17 and 18 of Township 13 South, Range 16 East, known as Devil's Hammock, Blue Springs and Little Blue Springs. The Planning Commission recommended approval.

Mrs. Winburn said staff had reviewed the petition and recommended approval.  Comm. Yearty moved to approve transmittal of the Large Scale Amendment petitioned for by Levy County and Suwannee River Water Management District for Devil's Hammock. Comm. Rooks seconded and the MOTION CARRIED.
