SPECIAL MEETING LEVY COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS August 10, 1999 The Public Budget Workshop of the Board of Levy County Commissioners was held on August 10, 1999 at 9:00 a.m. in the Levy County Board of County Commissioners’ meeting room, with the following Commissioners present: Chairman Frank Davis Vice Chairman Wilbur Dean Comm. Lilly Rooks Comm. Sammy Yearty Comm. Don Foley
Also present were: County Attorney - Gregory V. Beauchamp Clerk of Court - Douglas M. McKoy County Administrator - William C. Cobb
BUDGET
Chairman Davis called the public workshop for initial budget review and any other business which may need to be heard to order at 9:00 a.m.. Mr. Douglas McKoy said there will be deceases throughout the budget as a result of the reduction of the retirement rate for employees. Mr. McKoy said currently there is a $534,000.00 difference for a balanced budget and does not allow a contingency reserve fund and a possible transfer of funds from the General Reserve to the Fines and Forfeiture fund. Mr. McKoy read the proposed fiscal budget and discussion on increases and decreases ensued. Chairman Davis said the next public workshop budget hearing is scheduled for Monday, August 16, 1999 at 7:00 p.m. for further discussion on the department budgets and budget requests. Mr. McKoy said the revisions to the budget would be available prior to the next workshop with breakdowns of the constitutional officers and department budgets. EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES Mr. Bill Beddow said an opportunity to purchase a rescue unit and to secure a savings of $8,000.00 has arisen and he recommends an emergency action to authorize the purchase of the rescue unit. Mr. Beddow said the unit was used as a demonstrator and has 1300 miles on it. Mr. Beddow said all new vehicle warranties will be provided and all of the equipment is new. Mr. Beddow said this rescue unit would meet the grant provisions and allow a savings for the county. Comm. Yearty moved to authorize the purchase of the rescue unit with the grant funds on an emergency basis with the documentation of quotes to reflect the savings realized. Comm. Foley seconded and the MOTION CARRIED. THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS THE MEETING ADJOURNED.
