The Budget Officer/Manager is an integral part of the Finance team and performs highly responsible professional and supervisory work in coordinating and monitoring County budgetary activities.

The BO/M participates in key decisions for budget development, administration, capital planning, and policies affecting the fiscal health of the County.

Work is performed under the administrative direction of the Levy County Clerk of Courts & Comptroller.

The BO/M establishes internal procedures to assist in the compilation of financial information, including technological aspects of collecting, assimilating, and reporting data. The BO/M presents this information to the Board of County Commissioners for decision making.

Working closely with the all departments, the BO/M strives to understand operations and services offered in order to develop a budget that meets County and community priorities, moves toward data driven information, potential cost-efficiencies, reduced redundancies, and improved timetables for reporting.

The BO/M works in a fast paced and complex public sector environment with a management team committed to excellent fiscal stability, public access and reporting. The BO/M must be confident, positive, approachable, calm in stressful situations, and effectively delegate.
